How do I enable MDG Data Quality Management for custom fields in SAP S/4HANA?
Use the Custom Fields and Logic app to create and publish the field, wait for publishing to complete, verify it in the database table, synchronize it into the MDG Process Model, refresh BRF+ data binding, and then use it in DQM rules, Rule Mining, and remediation.

Process flow
- Create the custom field in Custom Fields and Logic.
- Publish the field in the relevant business context.
- Wait approximately 10–20 minutes after publishing.
- Verify the field in the target database table using SE11.
- Open MDCIMG and navigate to Configure Process Models and Field Properties -> Configure Process Models.
- Select the relevant process model; for the example, use Business Object Type 147.
- Locate BUT000 and choose Synchronize Fields.
- Confirm the custom field appears in the Data Quality Rule app under Check Field. Refresh BRF+ data binding in application ZMDQ_147 under BUT000 Key and Attribute structure before using the field in BRF+ expressions. Optionally run Manage Ru

Open the MDG Process Model customizing and synchronize the field into the model.

Refresh BRF+ data binding so the custom field becomes available in rule expressions.
