How do I enable Rule Mining for classification data in SAP MDG?

Use an ABAP CDS view to flatten supported classification characteristics into normal attributes, add the CDS SQL view to the Product Process Model, join it to MARA by Material, generate the resultant artifacts, and then run Rule Mining. This documented approach applies to SAP Master Data Governance on SAP S/4HANA 1909 and newer.

Use this guide to enable MDG Rule Mining for master data combined with classification data. The solution uses Product as the example object, transforms classification data into a normal data source with an ABAP CDS view, and connects it to the Rule Mining data model. It applies to SAP Master Data Governance on SAP S/4HANA 1909 and newer.

Process flow

  1. Use the guide for Product master data with classification data.
  2. Create an ABAP CDS view in ADT/Eclipse in the customer Z namespace.
  3. Set @AbapCatalog.preserveKey: true.
  4. Model KSSK, KLAH, CABN, AUSP, and I_ClfnCharcValForKeyDateTP as needed.
  5. Expose classification characteristics as normal columns.
  6. Test the CDS view.
  7. Open MDCIMG and configure the Product Process Model.
  8. Add the CDS SQL view in Tables and select Process.
