How to Enhance the Material Enterprise Search in SAP MDG?
Enhance the MDG Material data model MM and then extend the matching Enterprise Search connector/template for the scenario you use: reuse attributes, reuse entities, custom reuse fields, custom reuse entities, or flex entities. Process flow
- Extend the standard MDG Material data model MM with the required attributes or entities.
- Choose the correct scenario: existing attributes reuse, custom attributes reuse, existing entity reuse, custom entity reuse, or existing entity flex.
- For active area search, check and enhance the MATERIAL connector/template if the fields are not already included.
- For staging area search, generate or update MDG_MATERIAL or a custom template such as ZMDG_MATERIAL.
- Maintain request fields and the applicable response fields.
- Update SMT mappings if the new fields are not already mapped.
- Create or update the connector and schedule indexing.
- Test the connector with ESH_TEST_SEARCH or the relevant search UI scenario.

Test the MATERIAL connector after indexing and verify search results for the added fields.
