How do I enable MDG Data Quality Management for custom attributes in SAP S/4HANA 2020 and later?

Use this guide to enable SAP MDG Data Quality Management for custom attributes on SAP S/4HANA 2020 onwards. The source example uses a custom field in Business Partner Core View, which becomes part of Business Partner header table `BUT000` and business object type `147`.
Process flow
- Create the custom field in Custom Fields and Logic.
- Publish the field in the relevant business context.
- Wait approximately 10–20 minutes after publishing.
- Verify the field in the database table using SE11; the example table is BUT000.
- Open MDCIMG and navigate to Configure Process Models and Field Properties -> Configure Process Models.
- Select Business Object Type 147 for the Business Partner example.
- Use Synchronize Fields for BUT000.
- Open the Data Quality Rule app and confirm the field appears in the Check Field list. Refresh BRF+ binding in BRF+ for application ZMDQ_147 and the BUT000 Key and Attribute structure. Optionally include the field in Manage Rule Mining, then
MDCIMGConfigure Process Models and Field Properties -> Configure Process Models
Synchronize the published custom field into the MDG Process Model for Business Object Type 147.
ZMDQ_147 -> Data Object -> Structure -> BUT000 Key and Attribute structure -> Define Data Binding -> Refresh Binding
Make the synchronized custom field available in BRF+ rule expressions.
SE11Verify that the published custom field exists in the extended database table, such as BUT000.
