How do I enable SAP MDG Rule Mining for classification data?
Enable MDG Rule Mining for classification data by transforming classification characteristics into normal attributes with an ABAP CDS view, then integrating that CDS SQL view into the Product Process Model in MDCIMG, generating the resultant artifacts, and running Manage Rule Mining on the transformed fields.
SAP MDG Rule Mining does not directly mine Product classification data because classification has a generic data structure. The documented approach transforms the classification characteristics into normal master-data attributes with an ABAP CDS view, integrates that CDS SQL view into the Product Process Model, and then uses Manage Rule Mining to discover patterns and propose rules.
Process flow
- Identify supported classification characteristics.
- Create an ABAP CDS view in ADT/Eclipse.
- Set @AbapCatalog.preserveKey: true.
- Expose Material as a key and classification characteristics as normal columns.
- Activate and test the CDS view.
- Open MDCIMG and Configure Process Models.
- Add the CDS SQL view to Tables and select Process.
- Synchronize fields in Table - Fields context by using Synchronize Fields. Join the CDS to MARA using MATNR and the CDS Material field. Select Process and Active join flags. Select the Mining flag and save. Generate Resultant Artifacts and,
MDCIMGConfigure Process Models and Field Properties -> Configure Process Models
Add the CDS SQL view to the Product Process Model, synchronize fields, define joins to MARA, and enable the Mining flag.
SE11Review the generated tables after Resultant Artifacts are created.
Create and run the mining run using the transformed CDS data.
