This guide explains how to create SAP MDG data quality rules, model and approve them, and trigger evaluations for Business Partner and Product master data. It covers the Business Partner search-term validation example, the Product multi-stage validation example, rule usages such as Data Quality Evaluation, Change Requests, Consolidation, and Mass Processing, and the lifecycle from rule creation through remediation.
Process flow
- Launch Fiori Launchpad and open the relevant DQM app for Business Partner or Product.
- Create the rule and maintain the mandatory header fields.
- Maintain the General Information tab, including Rule Owner and Implementation Expert where applicable.
- Add the required usages, such as Data Quality Evaluation, Check in Change Requests, Check in Consolidation, and Check in Mass Processing.
- Choose Prepare for each usage to generate BRFplus Scope and Condition expressions.
- Implement and activate the generated expressions.
- Send the rule for testing or implementation, then approve it.
- Enable the required usage from the Usage tab after approval.
